↛ HEADCANONS TFA//TLJ SPOILERS

FORCE BOND
I believe Rey and Kylo have been bound together by the force for longer than either has known. The evidence for me is when she touches his (and Anakins/Lukes) old saber. She has visions of events she should have no knowledge of. At this point, I believe she is linked to the Skywalkers not by her blood, but by the Force itself.
SNOKE
Snoke was partially bluffing when he said that he forged the bond between Kylo and Rey. Other than there being no suggestion that he meddled in their bond visually in the film making-- Luke is around her the entire time she can see and interact with Kylo. I believe Luke, out of any of the characters in this series, would have been able to sense Snoke's influence (as he had seen it in his nephew's heart) and would have told Rey immediately. Also, after Snoke's death and Kylo's confrontation with Luke, they see each other once gain before she leaves. Snoke, most likely, was able to peer into the connection and possibly helped to magnify it, but there is no evidence that they were bound purely by Snoke's hand.
VISION
I believe Kylo and Rey in fact shared the same vision, and that vision hasn't come to fruition yet. While they fought together in the throne room, it's clear that they both still felt as if there was a "next step" afterwards. Which is what led to their mutual disappointment and grief.
TAKE-OVER
Kylo's take over of the position of Supreme Leader was not planned. He did not intend to become Supreme Leader of the First Order when he killed Snoke. I believe it was out of a sense of protection and kinship he felt with Rey. He killed the Supreme Leader because her life was at stake.
This was an act of "love". Not meaning that he loves her in a romantic sense, but the fact that she helped him achieve clarity within himself- something which Snoke never gave him as he constantly dressed Kylo down for being "torn". Kylo's resolve came from Rey. And Rey only.
REN v BEN
I firmly believe Ben Solo is more alive than ever. He destroys his mask, a symbol of his connection to Darth Vader and the Dark Side. He killed his master for the sake of another. While he killed his father, it tore him in two. It did not destroy Ben Solo, but revived him. He could not kill his own mother-- even in a way which was more separated and much less personal. When he offers the galaxy to Rey, he implies he wants to destroy everything. This doesn't make him a good guy-- however I believe he is not acting out of "evil", I believe he is acting out of an instinct to survive.
POWER
The fact that Star Wars cannot keep the power-levels of any one character consistent or remember to SOMETIMES nerf Force Users to a reasonable level not-withstanding I believe Kylo is much more powerful than he seems most times. Given his unending need to seek validation from others, he is unable to see how capable he is by himself. He has essentially been an attack dog on a leash, sent out to enforce Snoke's orders or break people's minds. He was not being groomed to take on a position of high authority, merely taunted with the idea that he could possibly reach the levels of power his grandfather had (and then constantly told that he was failing due to his own split emotions).
Rey's sense of confidence in their shared fates and destiny gave him resolve enough to murder his master. Enough that he was able to mask his true intentions until Snoke was already bisected and dead on the floor. His own self assurance in knowing what he had to do to protect Rey and their vision of the future is what allowed him to do that, when before he was merely a pawn.
